Embracing Resiliency

Resilience is about putting in the work to make tomorrow just a bit easier. Standing up for what you believe and fighting back against challenges builds your confidence and increases your ability to regain strength when facing difficult situations. Resilience takes strength, practice, and discipline. Working in suicide prevention, community wellness, and school or youth programming, we hear this word a lot; how children and youth should be resilient, bounce back, and get up a seventh time after falling in the dirt. But something that we see and learn every day is that it is very difficult to continually be resilient alone, without support.

Support, love, and kindness are some of the factors that help us be resilient. Having people around us who lend a hand when we fall or support us when we make a mistake, helps us to get up, grow, and move on.
